Sales Engineer

Summary

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in the sales of exterior building products by leveraging your technical construction expertise and knowledge. This role involves collaborating with customers to understand their needs, demonstrating how our products or services meet those needs, and providing technical support throughout the sales process. The Sales Engineer will lead our process for developing submittal and production drawings for custom projects, take-offs, and estimation for custom projects. As a Sales engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating projects from start to finish, ensuring their successful completion within budget, timeline, and quality standards.

 

  1. Technical Sales Support:

    • Engage with customers to understand their technical requirements and challenges.
    • Provide product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution proposals to potential clients.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies.

 

  1. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their technical inquiries and concerns.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, offering technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales process.

 

  1. Solution Development:

    • Work closely with the engineering team to develop customized solutions that meet customer specifications.
    • Provide input on product development based on customer feedback and market trends.

 

  1. Sales Support:

    • Assist the sales team in preparing proposals, quotes, and contract documents.
    • Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events to promote products and services.

 

  1. Technical Training:

    • Provide training and support to sales team members on technical product features and benefits.
    • Develop sales tools and resources to facilitate the sales process.

 

  1. Market Analysis:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market developments.
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and potential customers.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; or Minimum of three years of experience in Commercial Construction, with a strong focus on varying types of roofing systems and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous architectural experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with training preferred.
  • Experience with MBS software, CAD, Bim, HubSpot, Microsoft 365 – Business Central will be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or engineering roles.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of complex technical products or services.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish credibility with customers.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to address customer needs.
